No. For one-off commodity buys, a global manufacturer is often not the right source. If a job needs 500 feet of standard cable tomorrow, a local distributor can usually serve it better. That is not a weakness in the manufacturer. It is a difference in job type.

I use a direct manufacturer like Prysmian when the project has engineering content, formal approvals, specialized fire or data requirements, or a long construction schedule. I use a local distributor when the requirement is standard, small, and urgent. Both can be excellent. There is no need to make one look bad to justify the other.
